Get out into nature

NRMA Woodgate Beach Holiday Park is bordered by the Burrum National Park on all three sides (west, north and south) with many boardwalks and bush walk trails to choose from.

Wildlife and bird watching
The national park has a number of marked trails with a bird hide overlooking wetlands which is home to many native water birds.¬†Woodgate is also renowned for kangaroos hoping about town and grazing on the locals’ green lawns.

4wd adventures
The National Park also has numerous 4WD tracks, including some with beach access. No permit is required.

Whale watching
See how many whales you can spot, Hervey Bay Whale Watching offers Half day & Full day Tours (July – November).

Mon Repos Turtle Encounters
Every year, from November to March, you can join QPWS Rangers at Mon Repos Turtle Centre on a guided tour to watch nesting (November to January) and hatching (January to March) marine turtles.

Head for the beach

The calm waters are protected by Fraser Island making it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and water-skiing etc.

Fishing
Woodgate is a popular fishing spot with great fishing straight off the beach, in the Burrum River to the south and Theodolite Creek to the north.

Beach equipment
Beach game hire – ‘Giant’ games suitable for the beach such as jenga, snakes & ladders, chess, connect 4, dominoes, scrabble etc. available all year round.

Kayaking and paddleboarding

Kayak & Paddleboard Hire – available on the Esplanade opposite park during school holidays and by arrangement at other times.

Relaxation

Collect shells, build a sandcastle, stroll along the beach, read a book, relax in a deck chair.

Picnic areas
Free BBQ areas with picnic tables located all along the ocean front, at Banksia Park, Walkers Point on Burrum River and Theodolite Creek.

Dining out
Our park is close by to a number of eateries such as the onsite Serenity Cove Café, the Woodgate Club is only 800 metres south and the Woodgate Beach Hotel is 2.3km north along the esplanade.

Walking tracks
There is a paved walking/cycle track that runs the length of the foreshore perfect for those morning and evening walks.

Our park is located in close proximity to a number of location facilities such as, tennis courts, basketball/netball court, lawn bowls, children’s play ground, skate park, golf course.
