Things to do in Mildura

Mildura is known as the centre of Victoria’s Food Bowl, as it’s packed with a plethora of major citrus fruit producers, including oranges, grapes and wine – making it the ideal destination for a foodie getaway. The city is also located along the mighty Murray River, and is famous for fishing, water sports and and boat tours. Whatever your style, Mildura ticks the boxes for many different travelling types. And to make life easier, we’ve put together a list of the top things to do in Mildura all year round, for everyone.

Visit the wineries

Discover what all the rage is about with a visit to the great local wineries and vineyards in and around Mildura. There’s Sunraysia Cellar Door, Treatham Estate, Oak Valley Estate Winery and Chateu Mildura, all offering their own unique blends of wine and delicious tasting experiences.

Mildura Water Play Park

Another hot day in Mildura? If you’re in the centre of town, check out the Mildura Water Play Park. Perfect for younger children or toddlers, the play park offers water fountains to splash around in while you can kick back under a shady tree and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Mildura Paddle steamers

All aboard a Mildura paddle steamer. This impressive fleet of Paddle Steamers will take you for an unforgettable cruise down the Murray River. Options include a Daily 2 Hour Cruise and the Gol Gol Lunch Cruise.  For something a bit more special, book your spot on the Trentham Winery Cruise, or witness the spectacular sunset on the Evening Dinner Cruise.

Mildura Family Fun Centre

While there’s plenty of fun activities to do inside the holiday park, there’s so much to explore outside. For fun and amusement, the Putt Putt Family Fun Centre has you covered. Verse the family in an 18-hole game of mini golf before a adrenaline rush on the dodgem cars arcade game.

Mildura Arts Centre

After a spot of art and culture? The Mildura Arts Centre has you covered. With great local and international performances, exhibitions, workshops and events. Check out their website for the latest news and upcoming events.

Go Go Karting

Dodgem cars not enough to get the heart racing? Well Mildura Formula K Grand Prix Go Karts will surely try. Perfect for families with older children, you’ll be buzzing around sharp corners and lapping down the long straits while having the time of your life! There’s also a fully enclosed viewing area with air-conditioning if you decide you’d rather just watch.

Go fishing on the Murray

With NRMA Mildura Riverside Holiday Park just meters from the Murray River, why not set up base and fish until your hearts content? The Murray River is home to plenty of freshwater fish, including Golden, Redfin and Silver Perch, Carp, Eel-tailed catfish and so much more. There’s a tackle store just a 6 minute drive from the holiday park and you’ll also find a BCF in town too.

Enjoy the fresh produce

Head down to the Sunraysia Farmers Market, combining some of the regions best fresh produce as well as coffee, wines, baked bread and so much more. There’s plenty of parking and playgrounds nearby making it a great day out for families.

Visit the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens

Australian Inland Botanic Gardens is a 25 minute drive from the Mildura city centre. The gardens feature native Australian plants as well as plant species from New Zealand, Africa, Europe, Asia and North and South America. There’s a fabulous rose garden with over 1600 colour coordinated rose bushes and Eucalyptus plants, some of which may date back to over 2500 years. There’s even a pop up café serving delicious food and drinks.
