Planning a trip with your furry friend should be easyand now it can be when you visit the Central Coast. We’ve compiled a list of some of best local dog friendly tips and activities for the Central Coast.

Dog friendly beaches

That’s right, the ultimate dog activity. What pooch doesn’t like to sprint across the sand and splash into the ocean. You and your best buddy don’t need to wander far for some of leash time in the outdoors. Right on the resort doorstep is Umina Beach, open to dogs for an of leash play and the best spot for a sunrise or sunset stroll. The Central Coast is host to plenty more dog friendly beaches including Avoca Beach, Wamberal Beach and all the way to Copacabana Beach, there’s plenty of options to choose from as you explore the coast.

Dog friendly cafes and restaurants

Hungry? There’s a great range of dog friendly cafes just a stones throw from your dog friendly campsite. Take a short stroll to Jasmine Greens Park Kiosk for a coffee and bite to eat where a bowl of water is always waiting for thirsty dogs. Hope over beachside to Umina Beach Café to enjoy water views and some tasty treats. If you’re looking to venture further out, you can find a great range of cafes and restaurants along the Central Coast welcoming dogs. Head north to Long Jetty and The Entrance to find some incredible outdoor dining, or grab a spot at these oceanfront locations Munchas Café and Point Café. Dinner is for everyone, and Bay Road Brewery in Gosford is a great place to get a bite with your four-legged friend. Open for lunch and dinner, rain and shine, set yourself up in the undercover outdoor area to grab a tasty local brew and tasty eats.

Dog friendly walks and play

Every pup loves to explore, so take advantage of this beautiful area to really let them see – and sniff – somewhere different to home. Strickland State Forest is just north of Gosford, and has a range of incredible dog friendly walking tracks just waiting to be explored.  Take advantage of the Arboretum Track, one of Australia’s oldest arboretums (a botanical garden dedicated to trees), with the fun added challenge of walking along a swinging bridge. Tuggerah Dog Park also offers an obstacle course, with three gated areas to really let them run wild.
