If you’re looking for the top things to do on the Central Coast, we recommend getting outdoors. The Central Coast boasts some truly amazing walks that offer up some spectacular and awe-inspiring postcard views. If you’ve packed your walking shoes, put them to good use on the Box Head track. Found in Bouddi National Park, this track will have you winding your way through rugged bushland while you soak up the breathtaking views of the Tasman Sea and Hawkesbury River. Keep your eyes peeled for colourful birds gliding through the redgum trees and along the rocky outcrops that are scattered along the sea.
If you’re seeking a shorter walk, try the Flannel Flower bushwalking track. Running between Tallow and Lobster Beach, this uncharted-like track is a must-do for those after some insta-worthy scenic views of the Central Coast’s most popular and gorgeous beaches, including Broken Bay, Pearl and Umina.
You don’t have to travel far from your accommodation to experience surf, sun and sand. NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Resort is situated along the stunning shore of Umina beach. This relaxed family-friendly beach is great for the kids and offers some pretty impressive views of the coastline. The beach itself is calm, so it’s a great place for a friendly dip or a beginner surfer to test the gentle waves. You can stroll down to the beach whenever you please, and if you forget your towel, no biggie – you’re only a quick walk away from your accommodation.
The next place worth a visit is the chilled out coastal village of Avoca Beach. Perfect for families, the village has probably one of the best beaches in the Central Coast. With sandy beaches, great surfing spots and a shallow sheltered lagoon, that’s great for the kids to play in, Avoca Beach is guaranteed fun for the whole tribe.
Another must do is the Jilliby State Conservation Area, a national park that’s the absolute perfect place for those looking for some action-packed activities. Take the 4WD tour, mountain bike through the amazing twisting forest trails, horse ride the mesmerising landscapes or take a long bush walk through the gorgeous forest grounds.
On a warm and sunny day, there’s nothing more enjoyable than a day out on the water. For the most enjoyable water adventure on the Central Coast, check out AQUAFUN on Avoca Lake.
Explore the vibrant lagoon wetland and cruise around with the family on a pedal boat or kayak, or test your balance on A Stand Up Paddle board. Make the day of it and enjoy a shady picnic with barbecue areas right on the lake.
